How it all started

Our story originates in 1961 when UTI was founded by an American custom broker. It didn’t take long for us to start focussing on worldwide container shipments. Since 1989, UTI continued as Unsworth Transport International specialising in reefers. A good move, as we’re still the leading freight forwarder in the business to this day.

UTI continues to grow every year, and it’s our way of working that contributes to this growth. Standing by 24/7, providing personal service and a great team spirit form the fundament of our company. Our dedicated team ensures that we continue to go forward like no other. A team of which the majority works at UTI for more than 10 years. Naturally, that says something about the loyalty of our employees, but it also shows what kind of employer UTI is. It’s precisely that commitment that ensures the stability in our services; we take care of each other so we can take care of you.

We have regular activities organised for and by the team. Whether it’s a weekend in London for some soccer or a spontaneous dinner (okay, and a few drinks) in Rotterdam, we always have a good time. It goes without saying that we also invest a significant part of our budget in training and developing each and everyone of our employees.

Corporate social responsibility

To act responsible is not just something we say, but it’s something we actually do. We are very committed to, for instance, the Sunday foundation. We support several social funds and donate anonymously to several charities on a structural basis.
